Community Interventions

Community-based interventions, such as crisis hotlines, mobile crisis teams, peer responders, and programs within fire and emergency medical service departments are fundamental resources that communities can implement to ease the effects of substance use disorders and/or co-occurring disorders on individuals and their communities. These programs can also help connect individuals to services and treatment programs prior to justice system involvement.
