Report of the National Survey to Assess First Responder Deflection Programs in Response to the Opioid Crisis

It is the most comprehensive overview of the field and its role in responding to the opioid crisis—as well as how first responder deflection offers alternatives to law enforcement and first responders in their work. The report provides an introduction to and history of the field and discusses how significantly diversion and first responder deflection are as responses to the opioid crisis. The "Key Findings and Takeaways" section highlights major conclusions of the data gathered and analyzed, with embedded links to the relevant data addressed by each key finding. A "Conclusions" section projects how the critical findings of this report may apply to a range of policies and important issues in the justice system and related areas, including public health, public safety, and other sectors.
