Medication-Assisted Treatment in the Courthouse: Exploring the Success of Franklin County, Ohio

This webinar is the first in a series on MAT programs in the justice system. It focuses on a court that uses MAT as an integral part of its process and offers a clinic inside the courthouse. The Franklin County court helps individuals on probation, or who will be on probation, access Naltrexone-based MAT services, peer recovery, housing, and other supports necessary for success in the community. The webinar spotlights how and which services are offered to program participants.

Learn how innovative efforts transformed a courthouse to better meet the needs of individuals and how collaboration among a court, service providers, a case manager, and peer support contributes to a safe and nurturing environment. Participants will learn:

  • How case managers fill gaps in services and collaborate with community providers.
  • Why meeting individual needs is essential to recovery and community success.
  • What impact innovative programs within the courts can have on individuals’ lives.

Presenters:

  • Becky Berkebile, Senior Program Associate, Advocates for Human Potential
  • Ron Murray, MPA, LSW, LCDC-III, Courthouse MAT Program Manager, Franklin County, Ohio, Municipal Court
